What experience do I have that can be a very profitable asset to your company's online marketing?
◦Search Engine Optimization ( SEO ) ◦Internet Marketing ◦Social Bookmark Marketing ◦Search Engine Marketing ( SEM ) ◦Web Design ◦Web Site Analytics ◦Web Development ◦Pay Per Click (PPC) Marketing and more...
Let me tell you a bit of a story about my marketing experience. I have worked for the same company for more than 15 years. As a marketing and sales manager I have utilized my many talents and skills (creativity, writing, researching, analyzing, problem solving, designing…) to first improve existing marketing systems and then develop, new, more profitable systems. I have also developed an extensive knowledge and I have had great success with web marketing, web analysis, SEO, PPC...
For example, before the internet was such a powerful media, I developed very targeted direct mail pieces that resulted in a rate of return of around 8% (average is usually 1.5%) and a sales closing ration of around 60%! Now, that is a very high closing ration. I believe that results such as these can only be the result of a well thought out and developed marketing program.
Although I did expect much higher results than average, when the leads first came in from our direct mail program such a high rate of return, was, I must say, still a bit of a surprise. I know I had put a lot of thought and planning into it all before spending out precious cash, but I did not expect that high of a rate of return. The closing ratio around 60% was less of a surprise as I had done studies that seem to indicate a high rate of sales. Keep in mind that, in marketing, with most products, a closing ration of around 20% is very good – we did 60%!
My SEO Marketing Manager experience
Now since, my target job is SEO Marketing Manager or Director, I am sure that you want to mostly know about my more recent experience and what I can offer your company to increase your online profits and the quality of your present SEO and Web Marketing programs.
Optimization! No, I don't get 1,000,000 hits per day! But I do get enough to generate a good net profit with little or no direct marketing costs. And it did not take years to do...just many long hours (now you also know that I am not afraid of working long hours to get things done). Fact is, I love marketing and particularly online marketing with its fast testing response. I have had quality pages that would rank on the first page within 10 days! See growth chart
PPC. My Pay Per Click Web Marketing experience is extensive and very intuitive. Limiting cost while increasing prospect quality has always been my goal and it has more than paid off. Using common off the shelf analytic tools and personally developed creative methods, I have been able to increase results while lowering costs significantly. Considering the limited budget I have been working with, I had no choice but be as creative as possible to maximize profit per dollar expended. My end cost per customer has saved the company a minimum of 50% and as high as 300% per acquired prospect. The quality of the prospects has also been significantly higher.
Writing and more writing…I love writing! As a SEO manager, I have had the great fortune of doing one of the things I very much enjoy…writing. I have written short and to the point text for web pages, longer multiple page text as well as articles on various web site to increase our natural or organic search ranking. That has easily paid off. Not only did I personally get many compliments from clients for the quality of the content but our ranking increased significantly on crucial keywords which allowed us to completely avoid any PPC or other online paid adds. This was not only enjoyable but also very financially rewarding.
Web site analysis and web page development. As for any good business or even any one of us, stagnation is not an option. As I am sure you know, if content goes stagnant, ranking can be greatly affected and the lack of freshness can turn away present and potential clients and leads. Utilizing very simple, in house created, web analysis tools ( I would be happy to share my secrets at the interview), I continually developed and improved web pages and that not only resulted in a better web experience (sharper targeting) but also better ranking for the web site.
As far as web data gathering and analysis is concerned, the fact is, the best marketing or web data information can be greatly wasted, if the wrong guy looks at it. I must say, while trying not to boast too much (after all I can prove it), that I have demonstrated an innate ability to retrieve very valuable information from data and turn that data into concrete results that result in higher profits for the company I work with.
Page design, development and web site formatting. Writing great text is, well, great, but if the web page is not appealing, easy to navigate and effectively designed, then the best writing in the world will not yield the expected marketing results. Through experience and continued learning I have been able to develop very effective simple and complex web pages that have resulted in, of course, higher profits for the company. Clients and potential .....
Am I afraid to work long hours and travel? The answer is simply NO to both questions. I enjoy the kind of work that is required for SEO marketing and management and as one once said, work that you enjoy, is not really work. Actually, I love marketing and designing campaigns and finding ways to give potential and present clients a web browsing experience that will not only have them stay on them come back for more and tell others.
By the way, since we are talking about travel, I also speak French which can come in handy in those countries (like France) where people can speak English but don’t always want to – Ah those French people!!! I would be OK flying back to Europe and expending your company’s reach.
Learning the business really never stops… and that has required a lot searching for quality information from a variety of printed as well as web only sources. And, of course, I have had the opportunity to apply the knowledge acquired. That makes me not only knowledgeable but also practically knowledgeable. Knowledge is great but until it is put into action, it has no real life meaning. My hunger for more knowledge in the field is, of course, on going! Very exciting field.
I am good at what I do, but, I have learned that if I want to be much better I need to continually learn about online marketing. This, not only allow me to be better at what I do and can offer but it also keep my work much more exciting and interesting. As I am sure you know, an interested employee is a much more profitable and efficient employee.
I obviously acquired the know how to find potential customers and fine tune my marketing approach to turn potentials into clients. Whether it was through direct mail before the advent of the internet or through paid online adds PPC with Google, Yahoo, MSN, 7 Search (and some others which I tested with minimal cost and realized quickly that these search engines were not yielding good results), or with more resent successes with organic search which has yielded 95% of my leads for free.
My present endeavour is profitable and successful so why am I looking to move to another company. The answer is simple, by focusing on my strength as an online and offline marketing manager, I will greatly benefit the company I work with. Will I generate more profits than the cost of having me as an employee? No doubt!
